MELVIN JONES FELLOWS

Lions founder Melvin Jones said “you can’t get anywhere in life until you start doing things for other people. There can be no progress without service.” The Melvin Jones Award is a very prestigious award given to those members within a club who give of themselves unselfishly. ROBERT UPLINGER AWARD

Robert Uplinger was a longtime honored member of the Syracuse Lions Club.  In 1971 he was elected President of the International Association of Lions Club.  He represented the highest ideals of Lionism in MD 20 (he died in 2002 at the age of 90). PRESIDENTIAL AWARD

The Presidential Award is the second highest honor in Lionism and is given at the discretion of the current President of Lions International.

INTERNATIONAL PRESIDENT’S LEADERSHIP AWARD

The International President’s Leadership award is the third highest honor in Lionism and is given to those Lions who have demonstrated significant leadership contributions.

LION OF THE YEAR

The Lion of the Year Award is the highest honor bestowed by the Club upon one of our members.  In 2009 the Award was named in honor of Lion Dave Carr Sr. It will now be known as: The Saratoga Springs Lions Club Lion David R. Carr, Sr. Lion of the Year Award.
